Aaron Hatcher

–

Gaithersburg, Maryland

Aaron Terrell "Redz" Hatcher, born on June 21, 1975, was called home to be with the Father on December 23, 2022. Born in Washington, D.C., he was the oldest son of Zephra Sue Huges-Hatcher and Oliver Jerry Hatcher Jr.

Aaron graduated from Duval High School. Immediately upon graduation, he attended barber school and obtained his license. He first worked for the Fort Dietrick Barber shop. He then moved to SLB Barber Shop. Because of his excellent and creative skills as a barber, many of his Fort Dietrick clients followed him to his new location. Aaron built a diversified and loyal clientele consisting of people from all walks of life. Apexxx Barber Shop was his most recent, and last place of creativity.

In addition to barbering, Aaron was a popular DJ in the Fredrick, Baltimore and DC region. Known as "DJ Redz", most weekends Aaron could be found DJing a house/birthday party, bar-b-ques, picnic or any occasion that required an excellent selection of music. Aarons style of DJing changed with the audience he was catering too. Most people of his parents generation knew Aaron as a serious, quiet, gentle, somewhat shy and reserved person. However his alter ego "Redz" was gregarious, humorous, talkative, fun loving person who loved people and lived life to the fullest. Either way , he was warm and loving and we loved him.

Aaron had a great love of children and frequently cared for his nieces and several children that the family accepted as his sons, Davon, Stephan, and Antonio. He spent quality time with the children, taking them to a litany of places. He would give them financial incentives for making good grades in school.

He leaves to cherish his memory his: parents, Zephra Sue Huges-Hatcher and Oliver Jerry Hatcher; two brothers, Oliver Jerry "OJ" Hatcher III and Christopher "Chris" Leroy; two nieces, Kanave Ray and Olivia Sue Hatcher; aunt, Kathy Sue Hatcher; three uncles, Robert Lee, Phillip Quincy (Carolyn) and Mark A. Hatcher; aunt-in-law, Gail Hatcher (deceased uncle Timothy); step-grandmother, Santha Louis Hatcher; great aunt, Romain Brown-Hooper; great uncle, Rev. Leo Cox (Gloria); sons, Davon, Stephan, and Antonio; and a host of cousins and friends.
